Admins/SuperAdmins can import documents, including folders and levels of folders, with a simple drag and drop into OwnersRoom.

If you drag and drop a .ZIP file into the folder-structure in the Documents module, you'll get asked whether to 'Import' or 'Extract' the contents.

Importing will simply upload the ZIP as a single file into OwnersRoom (just like any other file).

Using 'Extract' will read and import the full folder structure with documents, just like it was when it was stored locally.

Use this feature to import multiple files, to setup your preferred document structure when getting started, or if you ever have the need to change or add multiple files or folders (e.g. for a due dilligence process or if you want to restructure the folders and files).

Not sure where to start? Check out our suggested setup for documents. Just download, adjust to your needs, zip and upload to get a flying start! 🚀

Some tips:

  • Large files take time to upload - So please wait until the progress bar is gone before navigating away.

  • Design the intended structure before uploading (it is usually easier to clean up a structure locally).

  • Pay attention to avoid duplicate layers of folders: If you have a folder named "Data room" stored locally that you zip, and then extract that zip-file inside a folder named "data room" in OwnersRoom, you'll end up with two layers of "Data room" to navigate through.

  • Exporting files to zip, restructuring, and then importing again, can be sometimes be a better way to rearrange your structure, than moving and renaming files and folders inside of OwnersRoom.

  • Reach out (see the chat) if you meet any issue or have a question - we'll be happy to help!
