Why Platform referrals?
Platform referrals is a mechanism to enable investors and companies on OwnersRoom to get in touch with each other.
Leveraging the power of AI we are working to enable new meaningful connections between companies and investors. We want companies to reach a wider pool of potential investors and investors to get better access to relevant companies.
What are the consequences of activating platform referrals (for users/investors)?
Platform referrals can be activated from 'User settings'.
Activating platform referrals will enable a user to receive suggestions for companies to get in touch with. When the user receives a suggestion of interest they can request to connect with the company.
You will receive a notification email when we find relevant companies to suggest to you (we promise not to spam you with emails).
The company will get notified if an investor requests to connect, and can decide whether or not to invite them to their company’s room (investor portal).
When requesting to connect with the company the company can review your profile. See the «preview profile» button on the Personal 'information tab' under User settings.
When a company accepts a request to connect the user will receive a notification email.
How to filter out what is of relevance (investors)?
We encourage you to use the «company characteristics» input field to provide us with data that we can use to decide which companies may be of interest and not. The text can include sentences or key words that describes what you want to receive (e.g. «growth stage B2B or B2C SaaS companies based in the nordics»).
This data is used for suggestion-purposes only and will not be made visible to other users of the platform.
What are the consequences of activating platform referrals (for companies)?
Platform referrals are activated from a company's 'Settings' page under 'Investor permissions'.
When a company activates platform referrals, they open to be suggested to investor users. If we find investors looking for companies like yours, we’ll give them a nudge. If an investor is keen to learn more about your company they may decide to request to connect with your company, and you will receive a connection request.
No other data than what you can see under the «preview profile» function will be made available to users.
